Day fourteen: City Designers Market

Does anyone remember buying the wares of Auckland’s creative independent clothes designers at the old Aotea Square Markets?  Alas, it’s gone now, but luckily the designers are still around.  These days some of them are selling their creations on Fridays and Saturdays at a little shop called ‘City Designers Market’ at the corner of High St and Freyburg Square in the city.  The place is perfect for people tiring of the same old brands and looking for something original.  The designers are on hand to point you in the direction of the perfect outfit, and if they don’t have the size or the colour you are after, they are sometimes able to whip you up a custom-made version in a few days.
