Day eighteen: Achilles Point, Te Pane o Horoiwi

Well this afternoon it feels like summer has arrived. With an eye on outdoor activities why not pay a visit to St Heliers in Auckland’s eastern suburbs and wander up the road to Achilles Point.

Achilles point is perched above Ladies Bay.  It offers panoramic views over Auckland City, Rangitoto and Browns islands, and all the way to the Coromandel Peninsula in the east. This short walk is also part of the point to point walkway, a route from St Heliers to the nearby farmland of Churchill Park.

Be sure to time your visit with full tide and take a dip in the safe waters of St Heliers beach. Finish the day with a cup of coffee or an ice cream from Cigana on Maheke Street.
