With its plethora of dormant volcanoes, Auckland is blessed with a tremendous array of vantage points. Mt Victoria (named after Queen Victoria) rising above Devonport on the North Shore is one of these.
The climb to the summit is steep but short and the views back to the city and out to Rangitoto are spectacular. For those of you who don’t fancy walking, Kerr Rd extends all the way from Devonport to the summit. Our suggestion is to grab some Fish and Chips and a bottle of wine from Devonport, head to the top, throw a rug down and linger until the lights take hold over the city.
