Day fifty six: The New Zealand International Film Festival

One of Auckland’s most anticipated events kicks off in a matter of days. The 2011 New Zealand International Film Festival will again be a winter highlight for many.

The Auckland programme starts on the 14th of July and runs for 17 days showing around 150-170 films. The genre is diverse accounting for all tastes, from animation, music, sport to the aptly named “Incredibly Strange.”  Six cinemas are involved: The Civic, Sky City Theatre, Rialto Cinema Newmarket, Event Cinema Queen St, Academy Cinema, The Bridgeway and The Lido.
