Day one hundred and twenty eight: Barilla Dumpling

PC222461If you have ever been stuck in traffic at the Balmoral lights on your way to town around tea-time you have probably noticed the queue of people spilling out of Barilla Dumpling.  Last week we investigated what all the fuss was about. Undeterred by the aforementioned queue we stood in line and ten minutes later were surveying the menu which boasted 37 types of dumplings. Accompanied by a pot of green tea we selected chicken dumplings with mushroom and took a punt on the shredded pancake stir fry. All the dumpling options are served in lots of twenty and can be steamed, fried or boiled, we went for the fried option and will definitely be returning to try another couple of variations, the stir fry was also impressive. A great option in an area full of quality cheap eats.

  1. Have you tried the other places in that area? New Flavour, Shaolin Kung Fu Noodle etc I’ve eaten a lot of dumplings in the area and I think Barilla’s are my favourite.
