Day one hundred and sixty six: Baduzzi

baduzzi-3The Wynyard Quarter expansion is continuing at pace with a row of new eateries and bars popping up along Jellicoe St. One such eatery that, raised our curiosity was Baduzzi, an Italian styled eatery created by the Ben Bayly and the team from The Grove. Baduzzi’s signature dish is “poplette,” or translated to English “meatballs.”

The restaurant prides itself on producing “food for the people” and we would certainly agree. The whole experience was enjoyable with friendly and attentive service, a great beverage list and spectacular handmade pasta. Rest assured the poplete didn’t disappoint, our two picks would have to be the Coromandel crayfish and the incredible wild red deer meat.
