Day one hundred and seventy two: ANZAC Day commemorations Auckland Museum

auckland_museumFilmmaker Gaylene Preston has curated footage from WW1 that will be beamed onto the Northern Facade of the Auckland Museum. It will be accompanied by a soundtrack and some of the footage has never been seen before. Take a look at sunset till 10:30pm from 22nd of April to the 24th.

Regular dawn service will get underway with music from the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra Bass Trio. A second service commences at 11am. Throughout the day the Museum will be running ANZAC Day Tours with the focus on WW2 and WW1.

Victoria Cross recipient, Willie Apiata, will also be giving a talk on his motivations for joining the Defence Force and look forward to the WW1 centenary in August.
