Roast Chicken seems to be the latest trend in the Ponsonby Road dining scene. Bird on a Wire is the established player in the market but has been been faced with a bit of competition by Michael Van de Elzen (of Food Truck fame) with his new restaurant, Boy and Bird.
A recent Saturday night craving for roast chicken saw us visit Boy and Bird, and we were satisfied. The cirus-infused whole chicken with a spice rub that we shared was moorish and accompanied by some seriously good roast potatoes. The rest of the menu looked enticing but we were all about the chicken. The place has a casual vibe and is kid-friendly, which was useful for us with a one-year old.
