Day two hundred and thirty nine: Beirut

oBeirut opened on Fort Street, Auckland around six months ago, since then the restaurant has received wonderful reviews. After a recent visit it is easy to see why. The food is unmistakably Middle Eastern but the way it is prepared far from traditional. One of Beirut’s signature dishes “Bubba” is a deconstructed version of Bubba Ganoush, the result is a playful way to eat a classic middle eastern dish. The breads and dips we sampled are easily some of the best anywhere in the city, and the Brown Butter Cake a fabulous way to end our meal.
