Day two hundred and forty nine: Arataki Visitor Centre

IMG_1977The Arataki Visitor Centre sits high on a ridge along the Titirangi end of Scenic Drive. A walk in the Waitaks is a must-do for Aucklanders and visitors alike and the Visitor Centre is a great starting point for any visit. Staff at the centre can make recommendations on walks for every ability, and sell maps of the area. The informative displays on the Waitaks are also worth a look. Make sure you take your camera as the view from the centre down to the Lower Nihotupu Reservoir and the Manukau harbour beyond are spectacular.
