Oaken opened its doors mid 2016 and has proved to be quite a hit. The self styled wine bar/cafe is popular day and night.
We stopped by for brunch lured by the food and freehouse coffee concept. When ordering your cup of joe you are able to select which coffee roaster you prefer: Allpress, Peoples or Eighthirty. Food wise we ordered the ‘Saganaki’ described to us as Haloumi on steroids! It didn’t disappoint.
Our next visit will be for dinner to sample the artisan evening menu. No doubt we will wash it down with a wine from the well curated wine list. We are also tempted to take a seat at the chefs table one Tuesday or Saturday evening and watch as our two course meal is prepared in front of us.
